Priority registration

RDJ is offering priority registration for the following groups at the following times. In order to qualify for priority registration, you must sign-up using this form by November 16, 2023.

  • Mexican citizens living in Mexico

    NOVEMBER 19, 9 A.M. MST

  • BIPOC and Mexican citizens living in the U.S.

    NOVEMBER 20, 9 A.M. MST

    25 tickets available*

  • LGBTQ+

    NOVEMBER 21, 9 A.M. MST

  • General

    NOVEMBER 22, 9 A.M. MST

    25 tickets available

Each group will receive a password via email to register for the event prior to the registration time. 

Anyone identifying as more than one category qualifying for priority registration will have the opportunity to register for Ruta del Jefe more than one time. For example; If you identify as BIPOC and LGBTQ+ you will have three opportunities to register for RDJ on November 20 (for BIPOC), November 21 (for LGBTQ+), and November 22 (for general registration).

General Registration

General registration opens on November 22, 2023 at 9 am MST and will not require a password. We expect this category to sell out in just a few minutes.

MUST KNOW

  • Each person who will be coming to Ruta del Jefe MUST register for the event. This includes any family members, guests, friends, etc. who may accompany you to the event. 

  • Registration for all groups is first come, first served and expected to sell out within minutes of each category opening (see what to expect below to prepare).

  • You must be 21 years or older to register for Ruta del Jefe

  • Dogs, other pets, or support animals are not allowed at Ruta del Jefe 

  • 2-wheel-drive vehicles and vehicles with low clearance will be required to park in a secure area 5-miles away from the main venue area. This means if you come to Ruta del Jefe in a 2WD vehicle you cannot rely on your vehicle to camp. Cuenca Los Ojos staff will assist participants in transporting their luggage and gear from the secure parking area to the main event area. Participants will be expected to ride from the secure parking area to the main event area upon arrival on Thursday and departure on Sunday. Exceptions apply to individuals attending Ruta del Jefe without a bicycle. 

  • Each individual attending Ruta del Jefe from the U.S. is responsible for acquiring the appropriate paperwork, auto insurance, I.D., etc. for their unique situation crossing an international border and customs (medical insurance coverage for in Mexico for each participant is included in the registration fee). 

  • Refund policy:

    • A partial refund of 75% of the registration cost will be given for cancellations that occur prior to January 1, 2024.

    • A partial refund of 50% of the registration cost will be given for cancellations that occur prior to February 1, 2024. 

    • No refunds will be offered after February 1, 2024.

  • During registration, you will be asked to agree to the terms and initial the following forms:

    • Sky Islands Odyssey Project, LLC DBA Ruta del Jefe Acknowledgment 

    • Cuenca Los Ojos, A.C. (CLO) Visit Disclaimer 

    • Ruta del Jefe Venue Conduct Agreement 

    • Ruta del Jefe Community Guidelines for a Safer Space

    • Photo Release

  • During registration, you will be asked the following questions. Come prepared with your answer (you will be able to modify your answers after your register).

      • El Bonito: 27 miles, 3,334 ft (43 k, 1016 m)

      • El Jefe: 38 miles, 4,217 ft (62 k, 1285 m)

If you qualify for priority registration please sign-up using this form by November 16. 

  1. Prior to your registration date, create a free account on bikereg.com (Outside)

  2. Once logged into your account, click “Manage Saved Payment Methods”*

  3. Input and save your credit card information*

  4. Click “Edit Profile”

  5. Input and save your personal information 

  6. Click “Manage additional participants.” 

  7. Input and save the information of anyone else you may be registering for

By completing the above steps, you will be able to register in the quickest way possible.

*Unfortunately, this option is only available to people who have used Bikereg to register for an event once before. For those who have not used Bikereg to register for an event, you can still save your personal information under “edit profile

Day of registration instructions

Priority registration only: open the email from info@rutadeljefe.com. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox. 

  1. Visit https://www.bikereg.com/ruta-del-jefe

  2. Log in to your bikereg (Outside) account

  3. Select your category. There are only two categories:

    1. RDJ 2024 Event Registration 

      1. This category is for general registration and folks who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQ+

    2. RDJ 2024 Event Registration for Mexico

      1. This category is only for Mexican nationals currently living and working in Mexico. 

  4. Priority registration only: type in the provided password included in the email from info@rutadeljefe.com

  5. Fill in participant contact information (this will autofill if you are logged in to your account).

  6. Select your fundraising option.

  7. Agree to the terms and initial the Waivers

  8. Answer the questions under Additional Information 

  9. Select or deselect Special Offers (these are offers presented by Bikereg, not Ruta del Jefe).

  10. Click Continue. 

  11. Fill in your credit card information 

  12. Complete your transaction.

If you successfully registered for the event you will receive an email that says this and more:

Congratulations! You are registered for Ruta del Jefe on March 21-24, 2024. There is some important information in this email. Please read!”

If registration filled up before you had the chance to register, sign up for the waitlist category to be added to a que of participants who will be added to the event in case that someone else withdraws their registration.
